There’s just something about the mountains of Sevierville that keeps pulling me back.
As a traveling wedding photographer, I get the chance to experience so many beautiful places, but Tennessee will forever be one of my favorites. The mountain views, the slower pace, the cozy cabins tucked into the hills — it all feels incredibly peaceful and romantic. And Ashlyn and Chris’s December wedding at The Lodge at Brothers Cove was the perfect reminder of exactly why I love photographing there so much.
Their wedding day was absolutely stunning from beginning to end. despite being December in the mountains, the weather reached nearly 60 degrees — which honestly felt like a dream. The warm air, soft mountain light, and sweeping views created the most beautiful backdrop for their day. It felt cozy without being cold, and every part of the day had this calm, relaxed energy to it.
The Lodge at Brothers Cove was breathtaking in every way. Tucked into the mountains with panoramic views surrounding the property, it perfectly blended rustic charm with an elegant, intimate atmosphere. Everywhere you looked there was another beautiful corner — from the mountain overlooks to the warm wood interiors that made the entire day feel inviting and intentional.
But as beautiful as the location was, Ashlyn and Chris were what made the day unforgettable.
These two were truly some of the sweetest people. The way they cared for not only each other, but everyone around them, was impossible not to notice. Their day felt emotional in the most genuine way — full of quiet moments, happy tears, laughter, and the kind of love that feels incredibly steady and safe.
One of my favorite parts of the day was simply watching how present they were with each other. Nothing felt rushed or performative. They soaked in every moment together, from the mountain views during portraits to the celebration with their family and friends later in the evening. Those are always the weddings that stick with me the most — the ones where you can truly feel how much the day means to the people living it.
Photographing weddings in places like Tennessee reminds me why I love destination weddings so much. There’s something special about stepping away from everyday life, gathering your favorite people in a beautiful place, and intentionally creating a weekend centered around connection and celebration.
Ashlyn and Chris, thank you for trusting me to document such an important part of your story. Your wedding day was beautiful in every sense of the word, and getting to capture it in one of my favorite places ever was truly such an honor.
